Make efforts to always start out fresh with this years goods. Last season's ingredients just will not cut it. Stock up on fresh holiday cookie baking ingredients and start out fresh. A holiday cookie that tastes likes rancid flour just will not do it. Sugar might be well placed to keep for quite a while, put products like, baking soda and flavored extracts can quickly become rancid and dull-tasting.

Over-baking will end up in dry hard cookies. Follow the recipes time for baking closely, and do not forget to pre-heat your cooker before sticking the cookies within. Most cookies should be removed from the stove while they are still soft and just lightly browned round the edges. They should be moist and chewy and will firm up after cooling. For easy clean up, grease a tray or dish with marg without getting involved. To try this, simply put your hands inside a tiny plastic sandwich bag. Just turn the bag inside out when you are done and just throw it away. You might also want to use non-latex gloves for this same purpose.

Baking isn't like cooking; with cooking you can simply alternate and improvise ingredients to your preference and experiment with various quantities and still cook up a superbly done meal. You need to ensure that the recipe ingredients and measurements are accurate, as baking takes a load more precision.
