If you just transferred to a new place on your own or just learning to cook, there is a possibility that you are not fully equipped with cooking tools. So to get you started, here are several tips. You will be adding more to your kitchen tools in the long run. For now, here are five tools we suggest you start with:

- Chopping board. This is something very basic, as you can't chop anything without having a chopping board. It is very versatile, as you can chop pretty much anything on it - onions, potatoes, tomatoes, meat, herbs, etc.

There are some people who would rather get different chopping boards to separate vegetables, dairy products, meat, and etc. Some of them will buy various size of chopping boards. It will only depend on the quantity that they will chop. Begin with only one chopping board, and there might be more that you will need.

- A knife. Again, this is very basic, but you will not be able to chop or cook anything without a knife. A good, sharp knife goes a long way to help you prepare food. You can go to some stores, and hold the knives in your hand, so that you know which one you are comfortable with.

- Big pot. A big pot is convenient- you'll use it from cooking soups to stewing any meat or vegetables to boiling pasta noodles and so much more. Strainers are provided in some pots, this will make pasta cooking easier. But you can also but a separate strainer.

- A saut pan. We love saut pans, and use them all the time. Again, they are very versatile, and we recommend getting ones without wooden handles, so that you can put the saut in the oven as well.

The saut pans are used in cooking vegetables, preparing stir fries, sauting meat and fish, and many more.

- A Roasting Pan. This is the ideal choice of kitchen equipment if you want to cook food in the oven. This is a big help if you want your desired meal cooked in the oven. With this equipment, roasted poultry, meat, fish and even vegetables can be baked in the oven.

Cooking is enjoyable so don't be afraid to try. Now it's time purchase a few kitchen equipment that we just suggested. As days accumulate, you can add more equipment to your collection.
